Where else would you find one of the largest collections of American and Western art but in Texas?  Located in the Fort Worth Cultural District, the Amon Carter Museum offers visitors a stunning survey of American art, from the first landscape painters of the 1830s to modern artists of the twentieth century. At the Amon Carter Museum you can view the works of Martin Johnson Heade, Winslow Homer, William Michael Harnett, and Georgia O'Keefe.  The Amon Carter museum also houses founder Amon G. Carter's collection of works by the two greatest artists of the American West: Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell. The Amon Carter museum's photography collection ranks among the finest in the country.
